Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you buy from Authority Coffee.

Last updated: 9 October 2026

1. About us

This website is operated by Authority Coffee, a trading name of Agilistix Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 08541139. Our registered office is 10 London Mews, London, W2 1HY. Our VAT number is GB 163 5597 82.

You can contact us by email at [email protected].

These terms apply to every order you place with us, including subscriptions. Please read them before you order. By placing an order you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your personal information.

2. Who can order

  • You must be at least 18 and buying as a consumer for your own use.
  • We only deliver to addresses in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). We cannot deliver to BFPO addresses or outside the UK.

3. Our products

  • We sell roasted speciality coffee as whole beans, in the sizes shown on each product page.
  • Product images are for illustration. Packaging and labels may vary slightly.
  • Tasting notes describe the character of each coffee and are a matter of taste, not a guarantee of flavour.
  • Your order is packed and posted on our behalf by our roasting and fulfilment partner. We remain the seller and are responsible to you for your order.

4. How to order and when the contract is made

  1. Choose your coffee and size and add it to your basket.
  2. At checkout, enter your contact and delivery details and choose a delivery option. You can review and correct your details and basket at any time before you pay.
  3. Pay securely. Your order is then placed.

The contract between us is made when we email you to confirm your order. Please keep that email, together with a copy of these terms, for your records. Orders and these terms are in English only.

We may decline an order, for example if a product is unavailable, if there is an obvious pricing error, or if we cannot deliver to your address. If we do, we will tell you and refund any payment in full.

5. Prices and payment

  • Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. Coffee is zero-rated for VAT in the UK.
  • Delivery charges are shown at checkout before you pay. See our Delivery & Shipping page.
  • We accept payment by debit or credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Onelink (Stripe's saved-payment service). All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. We do not charge a fee for any payment method.
  • For one-off orders, we take payment when you place your order.
  • If we discover a pricing error after you order, we will contact you. If the correct price is higher, you can choose to pay it or cancel for a full refund.

6. Delivery

  • We aim to dispatch orders on the same working day. Orders placed at the weekend or on a bank holiday are dispatched from the next working day. Dispatch and delivery times are estimates.
  • Unless we agree otherwise, we will deliver your order within 30 days of the contract being made.
  • Please check your delivery address carefully, including your flat or house number. If you notice a mistake, email us straight away and we will try to correct it before dispatch.
  • Your order is our responsibility until it is delivered to you. If it is lost or damaged in transit, please contact us and we will put it right.
  • Ownership of the goods passes to you once we have received payment in full.

7. Subscriptions

Key information

  • What you pay: the monthly subscription price shown for your chosen coffee and size, charged every month until you cancel.
  • When you pay: your first payment is taken when you subscribe. After that, payment is taken automatically on the same date each month, using the card you subscribed with.
  • Delivery: free on every subscription delivery. If your first order also contains one-off items, the normal delivery charge for that order applies.
  • Minimum term: none. You can cancel at any time.
  • How to cancel: online, using Manage my subscription, or by emailing [email protected].

How it works

  • Each payment covers one delivery, which is dispatched after the payment is taken.
  • Cancelling stops all future payments. To avoid the next payment, cancel before your next payment date. A payment already taken will be fulfilled as normal, subject to your statutory rights.
  • To change your coffee or size, cancel your current subscription and start a new one.
  • You can update your payment card and see your invoices through Manage my subscription.
  • If a payment fails, we or our payment provider will try again and let you know. If payment still cannot be taken, we may pause or cancel your subscription.
  • If we change the price of your subscription, we will email you at least 30 days before the new price applies. You can cancel before then if you do not wish to continue.
  • We may end a subscription, for example if a coffee is permanently discontinued. If we do, we will tell you and you will not be charged again.
  • We will send you reminders and notices about your subscription where the law requires us to.

8. Your right to cancel

You have the legal right to cancel your order within 14 days, without giving a reason.

  • The 14 days start on the day after your order is delivered. For a subscription, they start on the day after your first delivery.
  • To cancel, tell us clearly before the 14 days end, for example by emailing [email protected]. You can use the model cancellation form below, but you do not have to.
  • Please send the goods back to us within 14 days of telling us you are cancelling. Email us first and we will give you the return address. You pay the cost of returning the goods, unless they are faulty or we sent you the wrong item.
  • We will refund the price you paid and the standard delivery charge within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or of receiving evidence that you have sent them, whichever is sooner. We refund using the same payment method you used, and we do not charge a fee for the refund.

When the right to cancel does not apply

Our coffee is sealed for health protection and hygiene reasons. The right to cancel does not apply to a bag once its seal has been broken after delivery. Opened bags can only be returned if they are faulty (see section 9).

We may reduce your refund if the value of the goods has been reduced by handling them more than was needed to inspect them.

Cancelling a subscription under this section, or at any time using Manage my subscription, also stops future payments.

9. Faulty or incorrect goods

We must supply goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If your coffee is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, please email [email protected] as soon as possible with your order number and a photo.

Your legal rights include, depending on the circumstances, a repair or replacement, a price reduction or a refund. This is a summary of your key rights. For more information, visit Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk). Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.

10. Discount codes and promotions

  • Discount codes can only be used in the way stated in the offer, for example on a first order or a first subscription payment.
  • Unless the offer says otherwise, only one code can be used per order, codes cannot be combined with other offers, and they have no cash value.
  • We may withdraw a code that has been misused or shared publicly without our permission. Any expiry date will be stated in the offer.

11. Our responsibility to you

  • If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or our failure to take reasonable care. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it was obvious it would happen, or if we both knew it might happen when the contract was made.
  • We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for your legal rights in relation to the goods.
  • We supply our products for domestic and private use only. We are not liable to you for any loss of profit, loss of business or business interruption.
  • If you have an allergy or a dietary requirement, please contact us before ordering.

12. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, carrier disruption or strikes. If this happens, we will contact you as soon as possible and take steps to reduce the delay. If there is a risk of substantial delay, you may cancel your order and receive a refund for any goods you have not received. If an event like this stops us delivering a subscription for more than 30 days, either of us may end it, and we will refund any payment for deliveries you have not received.

13. Complaints

If you are unhappy with anything, please email [email protected] with your name, order number and details of the problem. We aim to acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and to reply in full within 30 days. If we need longer, we will tell you why and when to expect an answer. Please raise any problem with us first, but nothing in these terms stops you going to court or affects any legal time limit for making a claim.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to an order are the ones shown on this page when you place it. If we make a change that reduces your rights or increases your obligations under an existing subscription, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you may cancel before then. If you continue after that date, the updated terms apply. Changes that only clarify these terms take effect when we publish them.

15. Other important terms

  • We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation. We will tell you if this happens, and it will not affect your rights. If you would rather not continue with the new organisation, you may cancel your subscription.
  • You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else without our agreement.
  • We will send notices to the email address you gave us, so please keep it up to date.
  • If we delay in enforcing these terms, we can still enforce them later.
  • If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest will continue to apply.
  • Nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
  • These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
